The Friends of Fellside World Book Day disco will be held on Thursday 1st March. There will be prizes at each disco for the best girl and boy fancy dress outfits (come as a character from your favourite book).

Last Friday saw a very successful Christmas Fair. Many thanks to FOF for their superb organisation and hard work to make this event a huge success. Thanks to all who gave their time to help on the day of the fair, without this support running an event such as this would be difficult. The total raised for school is £1856.00.

The Friends of Fellside Christmas Fair is on Friday 25th of November, there will be plenty of stalls and activities to do, we look forward to seeing you there. If you are interested in helping out then please contact school or any FOF member.
Fellside Fun Club will not operate during the afternoon of Friday 25th November.
A terrific £220.28 was raised during the Macmillan coffee morning for the cancer charity, thanks to everyone who came along and gave their support. FOF's next events are the Halloween discos, taking place on Thursday 20th October. Tickets are available on the door costing £2.00, which covers entrance fee, a bottle of water and a bag of sweets.

A huge thank you to Friends of Fellside for organising the fair, to the people who came with their stalls etc. and to all parents and families for their much appreciated help. Congratulations to the people who won a prize aslo everyone else who came, for their generous support. The total amount raised will be on the website soon along with stall holders information.
To make the fair as successful as always we need donations of:
Bottles for the tombola
Children's tombola prizes
Quality raffle prizes
Helpers - to help run some of the stalls
We also need cakes - brought in on the day in a named tin or box

Friends of Fellside (FOF)
Friends of Fellside are a group of people with a child in the school who want to be involved in raising money for the school.
Every year the school, needs money for various extras
e.g. trips to the pantomime, sports trips, travel expenses,
school council, new resources etc.
Throughout the year we organize fundraisng events;
Christmas / Summer fairs, B-B-Q, Social Nights,
children's discos etc. and we provide refreshments
at various class assemblies and concerts.
We would love to hear from you if you would like to be involved or can help in any way. Our next meeting is Friday 11th February at 9am in school

Friends of Fellside will be raffling a Christmas cake next week. It is a round 8 inch iced and marzipan fruit cake; it contains nuts and is fully decorated on an 11 inch board. It was baked and kindly donated by Mrs Ellen Mayes, Grandma of Ben Horsfall in Year 1.
Tickets will be on sale (£1 per strip) from Friends of Fellside members before and after school, Monday to Thursday on the yard.
Due to severe weather conditions and the interests of Health & Safety, the Friends of Fellside Christmas Fair on Friday 3rd December has unfortunately been postponed.
We intend to hold a fair in the spring term, dates and details to follow.
Thank you to everyone who has already made donations.
We need donations for raffle prizes and bottle tombola.
Please start bringing bottles for the tombola as soon as possible. If we get just one bottle for every child in the school we'll have 180 bottles and will raise about £300 on this stall alone.
If you are a parent who runs a business, we'd also like to invite you to donate a quality raffle prize to the Christmas Fair. Our raffle is always popular and raises lots of money for the school. Please see Mrs Tinson or Miss Knox at the school reception for a donation form.
Bottles and raffle prizes can be dropped off at the school reception from now until the morning of the fair.
Donations for the toys and games stall won't be accepted until Monday 29th November 2010.
The FOF Christmas Fair will take place on Friday 3rd December with all the usual attractions and more from 2.30pm.
As in previous years Key Stage 2 children can be met in their classroom at 2.30pm, or can attend the fair unaccompanied, but obviously they are not allowed to leave school until 3.15pm and must use the checking out system before they leave.
Reception and Key Stage 1 children are to be collected from their classrooms at 2.30pm (please use the rear entrance to the school building). Unaccompanied children will remain under teacher supervision until normal home time at 3.15pm.
Fellside Fun Club will be closed on this afternoon.

Don't forget the cycling challenge ends this week, how many miles can we cycle as a school by Friday? We'll welcome Kevin Doran back at the Bike it breakfast and MacMillan coffee morning. Will we have cycled 1008 miles to match Kevin?
FOF's annual MacMillan coffee morning takes place on Friday 24th September,
Clare Walton, MacMillan Nurse, will be explaining a little of what she does, we
will also welcome Kevin Doran back after his amazing bike, raising money for the cancer charity along the way. FOF have also organised a welcome coffee morning for reception parents on Monday 13th September as they leave their children for their first full day, hankies and plenty of coffee at the ready. Thanks to all members of FOF, the support they give to the school is invaluable.
