At the Reception the bride, her groom and their parents greeted their guests. More photographs were taken and the excited children were joined by the Year Two wedding party and their good friends from Gibside School. The best men and the fathers of the bride led the toasts. The children wished the happy couples good health and happiness and drank their 'bubbly' (lemonade and orange juice). Next the brides and grooms cut the magnificent cake. Lips were licked and the guests tucked in to their slice.
After learning to waltz in P.E. lessons, the brides and grooms took to the floor for the first dance together. They were some joined by their guests who danced beautifully. For a moment it was just like 'Strictly Come Dancing'!
Finally, each bride stood before the girls from her class, turned her back and threw her bouquet. Quickly each lucky girl held the flowers aloft. It was the end of a special party and everyone had played their particular parts perfectly.
What a great day!
