Tudor Sculpture

As part of our Tudor topic Year 5 worked with artists Shirley Wells and Kim McDermottroe to create a willow  sculpture of Queen Elizabeth  I.

We began by bending and moulding the willow to create a frame.

Once we had created our willow frame of Queen Elizabeth she was ready to be dressed.

We all work to make designs for her dress using pictures of Tudor fabrics.

When we had covered the frame with papier mache she was ready to be painted.

During our workshops we also made Tudor hats from foam. We really enjoyed wearing them and had had a fabulous time!
